How to protect your laptop? https://technorefix.com/2022/05/20/how-to-protect-your-laptop/ https://technorefix.com/2022/05/20/how-to-protect-your-laptop/#respond Fri, 20 May 2022 04:55:17 +0000 https://technorefix.com/?p=652 […]]]> However, keeping your laptop updated and damage free always comes with a huge cost, be it software updates, screenkeyboard or battery replacements etc.

Here are the top 7 ways that will help you protect your laptops with the ups and down associated with them & hence not make a hole in your pocket –

1. Get a Quality Laptop Bag: Always use a good quality laptop case or laptop bag when you carry a laptop in trains or moving about with your laptop. It helps to protect the laptop from damage and things falling on it. Prefer the one with good padding and pockets for storing USB pen drives and cords and DVD players, a power cord, and possibly a laptop lock.

Protect Your Laptop Exteriors with Laptop Skins: Make your laptop look trendier and secure it from scratches, water, dust and even damages. Today, you will find wide variety of laptop skins available in amazing graphics, colours and sizes.

Protecting Your Screen: Make sure you always protect your laptop with a screen guard as it protect against scratches and other physical damage.

4. Add a Laptop Security Lock: Keep Your Laptop protected with a laptop lock for instance– you need to leave your laptop alone for any amount of time.

5. Back up Your Data: When you travel with your make sure that you take all your data on your pen drive or hard disks because in case it’s replaced or damage you have the backup of all your data.

6. Cool it Down: If you use a laptop for long hours by keeping in your lap or bed, you must have noticed that it gets overheated. Thus overheating may cause your laptop processor, battery and hard drive to crash and it can even damage to your skin. For this you can simply try a Laptop Cooling table which helps to cool down the operating temperature of the laptop

7. Protect With an Antivirus: You can unintentionally contaminate your computer with a virus by clicking email attachments and links that are infected, visiting questionable websites, or inserting removable media such as USB sticks, CDs, DVDs into your system that is infected with a virus.

Fix an Overheating Laptops https://technorefix.com/2022/05/20/fix-an-overheating-laptops/ https://technorefix.com/2022/05/20/fix-an-overheating-laptops/#respond Fri, 20 May 2022 04:50:42 +0000 https://technorefix.com/?p=648 […]]]> The first and most important thing you need to do when your laptop is overheating is to clean the fan(s) that provide(s) cooling to the CPU and graphics card. Over time, they build up layers of dust and dirt that slow them down and block airflow. Consult your laptop’s manual or manufacturer to find out how you can open the laptop to access and clean these parts.

Before you attempt to do any cleaning, however, follow these steps:

 • Shut down the computer
 • Remove the battery
 • Unplug the power strip
 • Ground Yourself

Carefully clean the fan(s) with a cotton swab dipped in a drop of alcohol. Make sure the alcohol has completely evaporated before you reconnect the laptop to the power. You can also use a vacuum cleaner to remove the dust and dirt that clocks up the fan(s). To prevent damage to the fan, do not let it revolve in the wrong direction. If you want to use canned air to clean the fan, arrest the fan by holding it down.

Next, you can clean the exhaust port by sucking out air with a vacuum cleaner. The exhaust port usually sits on the side of the laptop. It’s the opening that blows out hot air.

The intake grills are small openings that allow air to be sucked into the laptop by the revolving fans. They can sit on the sides or at the bottom of your notebook. To clear the intake grills, spray them with canned air.

Finally, you can apply fresh thermal grease to the interface between the CPU and its heat sink. Again, please consult the laptop’s manual or manufacturer to obtain instructions on how to disassemble these components.

How to Save a Laptop from Liquid Damage https://technorefix.com/2022/05/20/how-to-save-a-laptop-from-liquid-damage/ https://technorefix.com/2022/05/20/how-to-save-a-laptop-from-liquid-damage/#respond Fri, 20 May 2022 04:38:17 +0000 https://technorefix.com/?p=637 […]]]>

1.”First of all, don’t panic,”Turn off the laptop and disconnect it from its power source & battery immediately.

To disconnect the laptop from a power source & battery, simply remove the charger cable from the laptop.
If the laptop is left on, even for a few extra moments, you could cause a short circuit, leaving the components inside with permanent damage. The quicker you can turn off the machine, the better chance you have of saving the laptop.

2. Turn It Upside Down and Let It Drain

Take a dry cloth and wipe up any excess liquid from the surface of the laptop — especially near the keyboard.

Never use a hair dryer to speed up your laptop’s drying process.

3. Turn the laptop upside-down and remove the battery if possible.

If you can easily remove the battery, that should be your next step.
This step is not possible on some laptops, including MacBooks without first unscrewing the bottom of the laptop from the rest of the housing.

4. Unplug all external hardware.

 • USB devices (wireless adapters, chargers, etc.)
 • Mouse
 • The laptop charger

How To Improve Laptop battery life !! https://technorefix.com/2022/05/20/how-to-improve-laptop-battery-life/ https://technorefix.com/2022/05/20/how-to-improve-laptop-battery-life/#respond Fri, 20 May 2022 04:30:16 +0000 https://technorefix.com/?p=630 […]]]>

1. The typical estimated life of a battery is about two or three years of charge cycles, whichever occurs first.

2. One charge cycle is a period of use from fully charged, fully discharged, and fully recharged again.

3. The cycle life is the number of complete charge/discharge cycles that the battery is able to support before that its capacity falls under 80% of its original capacity.so if the battery is discharged to 60% and then charged to 80%, it isn’t a complete cycle.

4. Charging your device overnight is not a good idea, and that leaving your laptop battery connected to a charger when it is fully charged could lower battery life.”Technically, you should not be charging your laptop battery for extended spans of time-so overnight laptop battery charging is a big no,” it said.
